Terms of Service

UsedCanoe.ca is a classifieds platform that lets Canadian paddlers advertise used canoes and contact each other. We are not a party to any sale. We do not own, inspect, store, ship, or guarantee any canoe listed here, and we never handle payment between buyer and seller.

You must be at least 18 and provide accurate information. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account and for keeping your password secure. Let us know right away if you believe your account has been accessed by someone else.

Every listing must be for a real canoe that you own and are entitled to sell. You must:

• Describe the canoe honestly, including its condition, age, and any known damage.
• Upload the required photos, and only photos of the actual canoe being sold.
• Post one listing per canoe, and remove or mark it sold once it sells.
• Set a genuine asking price in Canadian dollars.

You may not list stolen goods, misrepresent a hull's material or history, post other people's photos, advertise unrelated products or services, or use listings to collect personal information.

Transactions happen entirely between you and the other person. Inspect a canoe in person before paying, verify ownership, and agree payment terms directly. We are not responsible for the accuracy of listings, the condition or legality of any canoe, or the conduct of any user. See our safety guidance before meeting anyone.

Use in-platform messaging for genuine buying and selling conversations. Spam, harassment, scam attempts, and off-platform payment schemes are grounds for immediate removal. We may review messages when investigating a report.

The first 100 listings are free for 30 days. After that, listings are $8 per month or $20 for three months, per listing. We charge no commission — sellers keep 100% of the sale price. Fees are non-refundable once a listing is live, and you can cancel renewal at any time from your account.

You keep ownership of your listing text, photos, and video. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display, resize, and promote that content in connection with operating and marketing the marketplace.

We may edit, hide, or remove any listing and suspend or close any account that breaks these terms or puts other users at risk. Where practical we will tell you why. You can close your account at any time.

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, UsedCanoe.ca is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the listing fees you paid us in the previous twelve months.

We may update these terms; material changes will be posted here with a new date, and continuing to use the site means you accept them. These terms are governed by the laws of the province in which UsedCanoe.ca operates and the applicable laws of Canada.
